Meet Chelsey Taylor, MSN, APRN, FNP-C

Specializing in family medicine, Chelsey Taylor, MSN, APRN, FNP-C, brings a strong background in hospital care, infectious disease, urgent care, and primary care to Jackson County Medical Clinic. Born and reared in Ganado, she is proud to care for patients in the same area she has long called home.

Taylor began her nursing career in the hospital setting, spending 10 years as a registered nurse in medical-surgical care and intensive care before becoming a family nurse practitioner. Her experience later expanded into infectious disease and urgent care, where she found herself increasingly incorporating primary care into conversations with patients.

She earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from The University of Texas at Austin and her Master of Science in Nursing from The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston. Her clinical training included experience in primary care, pediatrics, obstetrics and gynecology, and other areas that prepared her to care for patients across different stages of life.

Taylor places a strong emphasis on patient-centered care, shared decision-making, and education. She believes patients should feel involved in their care and understand the decisions being made about their health. Her goal is to strengthen patient-provider relationships while helping improve both patient satisfaction and long-term health outcomes.

At Jackson County Hospital District, Taylor values the teamwork among providers and staff, along with the access patients have to specialists within a rural healthcare setting. She appreciates being part of a system that allows patients throughout Jackson County and surrounding communities to receive quality care closer to home.

Outside of work, Taylor enjoys spending time with her husband and four daughters and supporting their sporting and extracurricular activities. She also enjoys cheering on the Ganado Indians and Maidens, along with college football and softball.
