Meet Deke Eberhard, M.D., M.B.A.
Specializing in family medicine, Dr. Deke Eberhard is proud to care for patients throughout The Crossroads and provide comprehensive medical care for people of all ages. His approach to family medicine allows him to build lasting relationships with patients while caring for children, adults, and older adults through different stages of life.
A childhood cancer survivor, Dr. Eberhard was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia at age three. That experience initially inspired him to consider a career in pediatric medicine. As his medical training progressed, however, he discovered a passion for caring for patients across the full age spectrum and ultimately chose family medicine.
Dr. Eberhard earned bachelor's degrees in both Biology and Kinesiology from Texas A&M University, followed by a Master of Science in Medical Sciences from the University of North Texas Health Science Center. He received his medical degree from the University of Medicine & Health Sciences in St. Kitts and later earned an M.B.A. in Healthcare Management from Davenport University in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
He completed his family medicine residency through the DeTar Healthcare System Program in affiliation with Texas A&M Health Science Center College of Medicine in Victoria. Dr. Eberhard is also board-certified in family medicine, bringing extensive training in the care of pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients.
Throughout his medical career, Dr. Eberhard has also participated in community service, medical education, and outreach efforts serving patients from a variety of backgrounds. His experience as both a physician and cancer survivor contributes to his commitment to compassionate, knowledgeable care close to home.
Outside of medicine, Dr. Eberhard enjoys spending time outdoors. His interests include hunting, fishing, hiking, scuba diving, archery, golf, running, weight training, and sausage making.
